Protein Intake: Increase protein consumption to support tissue repair and recovery.

Compression Garments:
Weeks 1–12 post-op: Wear compression garments 24 hours per day.
Weeks 12–24 post-op: Wear compression 12 hours per day (ideally during the day, as activity helps boost circulation and detox).

Alcohol: Can dehydrate the body and interfere with recovery.
High-Fat & Sugary Foods: These slow the metabolic and recovery process.
What to DO:
Hydrate: Always drink plenty of water throughout the day to support circulation and lymphatic flow.
Compression Garments: Use proper compression if it applies to your maintenance regimen. Consistent wear helps manage swelling and maintain results.
Movement & Activity: Stay active. If your lifestyle is sedentary, incorporate regular movement breaks (e.g., walking, stretching) to stimulate circulation.
Skin Care: If managing skin folds, ensure folds are kept dry and use proper moisturizing techniques to prevent irritation or infection.
What to AVOID:
Skipping Compression: Do not neglect compression wear if prescribed—it’s a vital part of long-term management.
Prolonged Inactivity: Avoid sitting or standing in one position for too long without movement.
Skin Neglect: Don’t ignore changes in your skin. Redness, cracking, or irritation should be addressed promptly with gentle care.

Compression Therapy:
For clients 6 months or more post-op, compression is a reinforcement tool—utilize it daily.
Explore different styles of compression garments for comfort and long-term use.
What to AVOID:
Skipping Hydration: Dehydration slows recovery and may worsen stiffness.
Ignoring Movement: Prolonged inactivity can allow scar tissue to harden and limit mobility.
Inconsistent Compression: If prescribed, skipping compression garment use may reduce results.
